. . . : Adam Shiro : . . . So come out of your cave walking on your hands and see the world hanging upside down; You can understand dependence when you know the maker's hand.. . . {Excerpts} . . . [/blockquote] Adam flinched as the Alphess barked a loud, thick noise that rattled off the trees and rebounded back into his ears. The Alphess began to circle him, with a hint of humor in her eyes. This was something in which Adam had never seen before. Of course, now Adam felt relaxed enough to put his elbows against the ground, making his body lean back just a bit. This also caused the Alphess to make a larger circle around him.
Adam understood what was happening. She was sizing him up, for what, well he didnt know. She was bound to do something, after all being the Alphess it was her duty. And as Lead Hunter, it was his duty to kill the wolves. At times like this he wished his dad would take his place, just get everything done and over with so that he could have it easy. Thats the way things should have been, in Adam's mind anyway.
Adam then began to strech out his legs and in doing this, it expained the circle in which she was moving around him. A butterfly fluttered over head, its wings spread out and gracefully landed on Adam's shoes. This, of course, didn't make sense to him. Of all the animals that should be attracted to him, he had been stuck with butterflies?
Sighing, he didn't want to move his leg, in fright that at any moment the butterfly would fly away. He stared intently at it, his mind wandering from the wolf which looked at him as a meal. This butterfly stuck him as something he should recognise, as something that is sacred, innocent. Its orange wings looked to the sky's with black dots on top. The little feelers seemed to be in search of something.
A paw stepped on his hand, which brought him back from his daydream. The paw of the Alphess covered his palm, making him notice just how strong and broud built she was. The paw, the weight of it, made Adam move his foot, sending the butterfly off to, what he was guessing to be, a patch of flowers.
"Ow, sorry for not answering the question, but seriously?" Adam picked up his hand from under her paw and held it close to his chest. He thought he heard a low growl, not coming from her mouth, but somewhere lower, her stomach. "Are you hungry?" Adam asked, his voice full of concern and torment, he didnt want anyone to die or hurt because of hunger.

. . . : Mina Clarke : . . . There are sailboats throughout this brilliant sky, but you cannot pick them out if you can't fly. I'm glad the Earth doesn't care if I go up there; If you want to, just ask me and I will take you along.
. . . {Excerpts}. . . [/blockquote] Mina had stumbled into the bakery with Tally talking about something that Mina could not hear nor understand. Sally, the manager of the bakery, had began to talk to Tally. The thing about Sally was that she didnt know how to sign and since they were in the bakery, it was very hard for her to write because her hands are always busy neeing dough. The ovens were heating up the bakery like the summer heat that happens outside. Except the heat is trapped in this compact space, making it hard for Mina to breath. She began to step toward the oven, making sure not to trip. Last time Mina had gotten a bad burn on her forearm because she tripped. Looking over at Tally she caught her eye and began to sign. She held up her fist and lifted her pinky finger. She put her palm near her ear and brought it down to shoulder level. Spreading out her left hand fingers she brought her right pointer between the middle and ring of the left and thrusted foward. Holding her left hand above her right with space she shifted her hands slightly. 'I will start baking.' Having the dough run through her fingers slightly she made the dough tender and formed it into the original shape of bread-the way Sally likes it. Opening the oven door she placed it onto the heating racks. Her finger touched the rack slightly and Mina recoiled. She placed her finger in her mouth, trying to sooth the pain. Looking around, she noticed that Tally hadn't seen what had happened. That was good, Mina didnt want Tally worrying about her at her job. After repeating the process over and over again until the oven was full with very minor burns. Tally had helped fill the oven with dough. Once the oven was done-full really- they all sat down and Tally had sign-asked what Mina would like to drink. Placing her three right full fingers toward her mouth and pointing her thumb out she answered, 'water.' Tally nodded and went to get a drink for her. It was nice to have Tally help her out once and a while. It was very enjoyable. But it hurt Mina's feelings. To make Tally work on her day off, that wasnt fair. Usually they plan their days off so that Mina works in secret while they are hunting. They hadnt told her about their day off today, which caught her off guard. Sally comes over and places her palm on her shoulder, making Mina jump slightly at the action. She began to sign and then stopped because she remembered Sally couldn't sign. Sally-being intelligent enough- had brought over a pen and paper. Sally began to scratch something into the paper and showed it to her. 'When the bread comz out'a the oven, I'll give ou the spar coinz.' Her hand writting was horrible but at least she was communicating with her. Mina nodded st Sally and she skipped off to check the bread. Opening up the oven door she noticed that the dough was rising and will be done soon. She turned around and Tally had handed her the water she had asked for earlier. Holding both her palms toward her mouth she then brought them foward. 'Thanks' The bread was soon done and she placed them where Sally had pointed. Once they had finished Sally had handed Mina about five coins for her hard days labor. She had been rewarded.
